Airtel has been airing ads for their CSR initiative lately. Its good that a corporate is stepping up to do something to alleviate the suffering of the helpless. As noble as it is, I think they could have implemented this in a more effective manner.

The Touching Lives ad shows images of people in abject conditions and then goes on to regale viewers about what Airtel is doing and how we can help — by sending details of people in need to Airtel!

First, Airtel is a telco that is adept at mass marketing, so they know that you cannot reach the destitute via DSTV. This kind of makes one feel that the campaign is a show off. The money spent running the ad every 15 or so minutes could be put to better use actually helping more people.
