Comac Commits To Volume Production of 10 ARJ21s

BEIJING—The Comac ARJ21 regional jet is entering volume production, with the manufacturer committing itself to building a batch of 10 aircraft–a move that indicates confidence that the aircraft is close to achieving airworthiness certification.

Comac has signed an order for 10 sets of airframe major assemblies with the Xian branch of Avic Aircraft. Xian builds ARJ21 wing and fuselage sections.
