MADRID—As engine manufacturers capture a larger share of aftermarket work—especially for new powerplant-service contracts—a subtle shift in their power-by-the-hour marketing tactics is taking place: the differentiation between open vs. closed maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) networks.
