Etihad Launches ‘Etihad Airways Partners’ Strategy

Etihad Airways is launching a new plan for partner airlines that, once fully implemented, will offer passengers the same benefits that three global alliances provide.

While carefully avoiding the word alliance, Etihad is embarking on creating its own system, called “Etihad Airways Partners.” In addition to Etihad itself the group initially consists of Air Serbia, Air Berlin, Air Seychelles, Jet Airways and Darwin—the Abu Dhabi-based airline holds stakes in all of them or is in the process of acquiring shares, as it is with Darwin.
