Engine MROs Remain Under Threat From OEMs

MADRID—Engine manufacturers are becoming still more monopolistic, to the detriment of the entire engine maintenance industry, AJW Engines Director-Aircraft Engine Services Steve Williams said. 

Speaking at MRO Europe, Williams made it clear that aftermarket engine maintenance providers are under threat from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) determined to grab market share from them.

“Independents are being squeezed out by new OEM service offerings, which are pushing long-term service agreements,” he said.
