3DELRR Export Market Projected At Up To 100 Units

The U.S. Air Force predicts that the export market for Raytheon’s recently won Three-Dimensional Long-Range Radar design could be as high as 100 sensors, says Lt. Col. Kevin Sellers, the service’s program director. 

This is based on market research done before the $19.5 million development contract was announced Oct. 7; at the very least the Air Force expects exports of roughly 50 radars. This could put the value of the work in the billions of dollars. Already, some estimate the Air Force’s 35-radar order could exceed $1 billion in value.
