Raytheon Takes 3DELRR In Third Major Gallium Nitride Win

Raytheon has been selected over Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman to develop an active-array air defense radar for the U.S. Air Force, its third major program win in 18 months to feature gallium nitride (GaN) power electronics.

The company has received a $19.5 million contract for engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) of the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) to replace the Air Force’s TPS-75 transportable air defense radars.
