Air Canada Plans More Transatlantic Expansion

With competitor WestJet Airlines expected to materially expand into the transatlantic market within the next two years, Air Canada is adding considerable capacity between Eastern Canada and Europe.

On Monday, Air Canada announced that so far this year it has grown transatlantic capacity by 15.8%. Air Canada has also grown its trans-border capacity by 8.5% and domestic capacity by 4.4%, but no other region matches the European expansion. Overall capacity for the year is up 7.5%.
