Bombardier Qualifies Aleris’s China Aluminum Mill

BEIJING — Bombardier has qualified Aleris’s new aluminum-rolling mill in Zhenjiang, China, for supply of aerospace plate, positioning the plant to supply the Canadian company’s manufacturing programs in China.

Shipments will begin this quarter, Aleris says. Bombardier contracts Avic-unit SACC at Shenyang to build major assemblies for its CSeries and Q400 aircraft.
