Japan plans to launch the Himawari-8 geostationary weather satellite on Tuesday atop a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. H-IIA rocket from Tanegashima Space Center in a window running from 2:16 p.m. to 6:16 p.m. Japan time. Meanwhile, the Heritage Foundation hosts a forum in Washington, “Defending South Korea: Transferring Wartime Operational Command,” featuring remarks from retired U.S. Army four-star Gen. B.B. Bell, formerly the senior U.S. commander in South Korea.
