France, Germany To Monitor Cease-Fire In Ukraine

PARIS — France and Germany are planning a joint operation to monitor a month-old cease-fire between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, according to French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

“With Germany we are now talking about reinforcing, together, our surveillance of the cease-fire in the demilitarized area,” Le Drian said in an interview with RTL radio Oct. 5.
