Tianjin Airlines Opens Sanya Base

BEIJING — Tianjin Airlines has opened a base at Sanya, located on the Chinese tropical-holiday island Hainan. Two Airbus A320s will be kept overnight at Sanya and support two new daily services. 

One will fly to the carrier’s home base of Tianjin, in northern China, and another to Guilin, also a holiday destination.

Chinese carriers are reluctant to open bases, preferring instead to fly aircraft back to major cities each night and then dispatching them from those centers the next day.
