FAA: Tipping Point Achieved For Metroplex Benefits?

Bruce DeCleene, manager of the FAA’s Flight Technologies and Procedures Division, says “target equipage levels” demonstrating the benefit of performance-based navigation (PBN) may have been reached in the U.S. 

DeCleene made the statement during a panel on mixed equipage at the Air Traffic Control Association’s (ATCA) annual meeting in Washington on Sept. 29. “The tipping point is to be able to do Metroplex procedures,” he says.
