Marenco Swisshelicopter Makes First Flight

LONDON — Swiss startup helicopter manufacturer Marenco Swisshelicopter has carried out the first flight of its SKYe SH09 single-engine light helicopter. 

The aircraft made a series of five hovers lasting 20 min. at the company’s test facility in Mollis, Switzerland, near Zurich, on Oct. 2 under the command of chief test pilot Dwayne Williams.

The delayed flight comes 10 months after the rollout of the first prototype on Nov. 28, 2013. The company had originally hoped to fly the aircraft last spring.
