Embraer Silent On Timing For Last E1s; Cargo Conversions Feasible

BARCELONA — Embraer’s engineers have given a tentative green light to E-Jet passenger-to-cargo conversions, but the Brazilian manufacturer is still refusing to answer when the final first-generation E-Jets will come off the production line.

Speaking at a media gathering at the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) general assembly here, Embraer Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) John Slattery said he is “very confident” that the E2 will hit its 2018 entry-into-service target.
